This Privacy Policy explains how mycrochetmakes ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit mycrochetmakes.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Email address for free PDF downloads

When you download a free PDF pattern, we ask for your email address. We store your email, the date, which pattern you downloaded, and whether you ticked the box agreeing to receive new free patterns by email.

  • If you ticked the box, we may email you new free patterns and updates. Every email will include a link to unsubscribe at any time.
  • If you didn't tick the box, we will not send you marketing emails.

We may move our email list to an email service provider (such as Mailchimp, MailerLite or Kit) in the future. If we do, your information will be processed by that provider on our behalf under its own privacy and security terms.

Contact form

If you send a message through the contact form, we store your name, email and message so we can reply.

Pattern ratings

When you rate a pattern, we store your star rating with a one-way, non-reversible code derived from your IP address. This stops duplicate votes and cannot be used to identify you.

Automatically collected information

Like most websites, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and pages visited, to deliver the Site securely and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Site itself does not use cookies for tracking. We use your browser's local storage to remember that you've already signed up for PDF downloads and how you rated a pattern, so you don't have to do it again. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

Third parties, including advertising partners described below, may place cookies on your device.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use (or may use) Google AdSense to show ads on the Site. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this Site and other websites.

Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before personalized ads or advertising cookies are used, through a consent message provided by Google or a certified consent management platform.

Third-party links and buttons

The Site has share links to Pinterest, Facebook and email, and links to other websites. These are plain links: no third-party script loads until you click them. Once you leave the Site, the other website's privacy policy applies.

Spam protection

Our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you're a person and not a bot. Turnstile processes limited technical information under Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy terms.

How we use your information

  • To send new free patterns, only if you agreed.
  • To reply to your messages.
  • To keep the Site secure and working properly.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond, and no longer than 2 years.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email [EMAIL]. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
